Artist's Statement:

I work to achieve strong and simplified figurative and abstract forms in ceramic and bronze. In working with the balance of form and space, I aim for each sculpture to give an immediacy of experience and feeling in which its essential qualities can emerge. My current works reflect the expressive power of ancient imagery from a personal and contemporary perspective.

I approach working with clay from the perspective of a sculptor. I use tools not usually associated with ceramics. I have created free-standing figures up to 5 feet in height. I also create ceramic wall panels and reliefs.
