Artist's Statement:

Any day I can work with clay is a good day! I love to make functional pots that are fun to use in the home. In that quest I try a variety of clays and an assortment of forming, decorating, glazing and firing methods. I continue to experiment with new materials and techniques in my quest to keep my work lively and well-crafted. Consequently, much of my work is few-of-a-kind.

Since I came to clay later in life, most of my learning has been through workshops which I was fortunate to attend in intensive programs at Santa Fe Clay, Anderson Ranch, Penland, Arrowmont, Archie Bray and Oregon School of Arts. Art classes at several colleges and universities have provided the more formal training. And then there is always the invaluable "trial and error" process.

Over the past 20 years my work has been in juried shows in Idaho, Washington and New Mexico. In the past I have been active in several cooperative galleries in Idaho and Washington. I regularly participate in the Santa Fe Contemporary Clay Fair - Spring and Fall, in the Gallery shop at the Fuller Lodge Art Center in Los Alamos, at Santa Fe Pottery in Santa Fe, with the Santa Fe Community College Clay Club sale - Spring and Fall, and at my home studio which is open to visitors by appointment.
